Notes
Notes:
This is identical to the behind stage nak source I circulated years ago.
That source was mislabeled because this is obviously a FOB Senn 421 tape.
This is a new transfer from Dat cleaned up by me.

Yes, they played UJB and there’s a sandwich with Playing and China Doll. OK. But to me, it’s not so much what songs they played and in what order,
...
as how they played those songs. This is certainly solid and pleasant but nothing extraordinary at all, including no long or particularly interesting jams. In short, a good but not great show. In a year with many, many truly special performances this is simply not one of them. I’d spend your time elsewhere in 1981 (e.g., 3/9/81, 5/16/81, 8/16/81, 8/28/81, 9/12/81, 11/30/81 to name just a few). Just one KatfishJohn’s opinion.

As I continue to gather data for my set list project, I have now realized that not only is it interesting to know over the entire course of time, and over
...
the time the song was known to the band, but also the frequency by year, potentially by band member composition and tour. As one might imagine, this involves a deep dive into the deadlist database and will take a while to amass and confirm the data.
That being said, some interesting facts from my research for your pleasure:
Casey Jones appears in just shy of 14% of all shows ever played. discounting shows before it's introduction it appears in 16.9% of shows, or a little less than 1 in 6 shows. It was a first set song more than half of the time. When I finish the year by year analysis I suspect that I will find that the distribution curve is weighted heavily to the early 70's. After that it became an encore song.

I know what you're saying. They might as well have ended it rather than do Around + Around. Anyway, this show was fun all around and the jam brought a
...
huge element of surprise. Casey Jones was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd too.

Hupier. While you may not of paid your girlfriend back I did. Little did you know that I was banging here at the same time as you were dating her! I gave
...
her a 4 out of 5 just because she wouldn't swallow.

And it was great! My girlfriend paid for the tickets and said if I liked it, I could pay her back. I'm not sure I did, but I should have! I was hooked,
...
and have been ever since. It was a great show, and I could have sworn they were playing directly to my head.
